About this cartoon...
In this commission piece, we have a cute cartoon boy with bright eyes and a giant smile in the centre, surrounded by all his favourite dinosaurs!
He happily strokes the nose of a giant Spinosaurus, who is equally happy to see him, while a Baryonyx and Mosasaurus squabble over a fish (poor chap!).
Seeing as the Mosasaur is a swimming reptile (but needed to be included), I had the idea of making him smaller and then having him under the arm of the cartoon boy.
This of course made it easier to inject more humour into the piece by having the two dinosaurs fighting over the fish. The Spinosaurus, being the largest one helps to form a backdrop for the other characters.
This piece was created firstly as a pencil sketch to get all of the characters into a balanced composition and then fully digitised using Adobe Illustrator.
