About this cartoon...
“To be or not to be…” That is indeed the question for this cartoon actor.
This cartoon actor was a private commission piece for a local theatre company, that needed a colourful and fun looking design for a poster and a fun cartoon character design to help catch the eye.
Created initially as a pencil sketch, which was then scanned in and outlines added digitally. Next all colours were added before adding some final touches in the form of shades and highlights.
The curtains and stage to accompany him were then created in the same way before all being added together into a final composition.
The advantage to creating this as a vector graphic, was that all of the elements could be re-sized to suit the media they were used on and make the character design reusable for future projects.
